From the Heritage Collection, our 'Max' Loose Top thick, full-cushioned merino socks are ideal for wearing with work boots and gumboots, or for hiking.
The outside of the sock is a tidy plain knit, while on the inside the threads are pulled by terry jacks during knitting to form a loop between every stitch (like the surface of a towel) giving them a springy feel and extra air pockets for insulation.
They are strong and durable, making them the ultimate work and outdoor/adventure sock.
These loose top socks have no elastic at all, they will shape to your feet after the first wash. The well shaped heel will keep them in place. They're perfect for people with circulation issues.
Our 'Max' Loose Top socks are suitable for work boots up to 20cm in height. If you're after a longer length work boot sock you may wish to try our 'Max Plus' socks.
Fibre Composition: Merino Wool: 75% Nylon: 25%
Weight: Approx. 160g per pair

Got Questions About our Socks? We’ve Got Answers.
Do Loose Top Socks fall down?
No. We have found over the years that when the correct sock size and style is matched to your shoe type we can keep the sock in place. A little give but not too much stretch, combined with a well-rounded, deep heel made as close to a 90-degree angle as possible, keeps our socks anchored to your feet, so that even with a loose top they won’t fall down. What are your 'Max' Loose Top Socks made from?
Our 'Max' Loose Top Socks are made from 75% Australian-grown merino wool and 25% nylon for added strength and durability.
Are the merino socks itchy?
Not at all! Merino wool is incredibly soft, making them socks perfect for all-day comfort.
Can I wear these socks year-round?
Yes! Merino naturally regulates temperature, keeping your feet warm in winter and cool in summer.
Are they unisex?
Yes, all our socks are unisex – simply match your shoe size with our Size Guide.
How do I wash merino socks?
We recommend a quick, cold machine wash. They should be washed separately, or in a hosiery and lingerie wash bag so they do not catch on other garments. They should then be air-dried in the shade.
